The role

Translate agricultural use cases into mechanical concepts, engineering drawings, and practical prototype plans for tools and field equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop concepts, 3D CAD assemblies, detailed drawings, and bills of materials for agricultural tools and mechanisms.
  • Assess loads, materials, tolerances, manufacturability, serviceability, and operator safety.
  • Plan prototype fabrication and assembly with suppliers and document design changes.
  • Work with agricultural engineers on crop, soil, implement, and field-operation requirements.
  • Coordinate sensor, actuator, power, and control-system interfaces with electrical, embedded, and AI contributors.
  • Define bench and field validation plans, investigate failures, and refine prototypes.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of relevant mechanical design or product-development experience.
  • Demonstrated CAD and engineering drawing skills using tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, or equivalent.
  • Practical experience with mechanisms, material selection, fabrication, tolerances, and design reviews.
  • Ability to use calculations and appropriate analysis to justify design decisions.
  • Clear documentation and experience coordinating cross-functional prototype work.

Working arrangements

The role is remote. Prototype builds and field validation may require planned visits; the location, frequency, and expenses will be agreed before any visit.

Helpful experience

Agricultural implements, off-highway equipment, hydraulics, electromechanical systems, or design for dusty and wet environments.

Engagement and compensation

This is a remote, Hyderabad-based contract-to-hire opportunity. The monthly INR range depends on relevant skills and years of experience. Contract duration, working arrangements, and deliverables will be agreed in writing. Conversion to permanent employment depends on performance, business needs, and mutual agreement and is not guaranteed.
